ICE OUT

With offices in Portland and Minneapolis, we feel the profound grief, fear, and uncertainty many in our communities are experiencing following the recent fatal shootings and systemic injustices taking place in Minneapolis and across the country.

As designers, architects, and neighbors, we believe in justice, dignity, and the fundamental rights to free speech and peaceful assembly. We stand in solidarity with those calling for accountability, meaningful change, and the protection of human life. We also recognize that resistance, care, and solidarity may look different for each of us. Whether you choose advocacy, community support, or learning, we encourage you to engage in ways that feel meaningful, responsible, and safe for you.

We’ve included some resources in the link below, including materials shared by AIA Oregon, NOMA, and Holst staff.

How do I become an architect? What is the difference between Architecture and Engineering? Can I job shadow an architect for a day? How do architects turn designs into buildings? Can I tour your office with my child? What roles can I perform in architecture? How do I know if architecture is the field for me? Would an architect speak to my class about architecture? What degrees do I need to be an architect?

Holst invites curious minds to ask questions about architecture.
