Originally from Los Angeles, Rick joined Holst in 2017, bringing several years of experience in creative office and mixed-use projects. After expanding his experience with multi-family residential projects at Holst, Rick has built upon his talents of resolving technical design issues and adapting code analysis.

For several years, Rick dedicated his time to the design and construction of Glisan Landing. The award-winning development brings together affordable family housing, permanent supportive housing, and an early learning center to create an equitable community. Since its completion in 2025, Rick has shifted his focus to the renovations of Ruth Haefner Plaza and Holgate House, revitalizing the two affordable housing projects to improve living conditions for residents and ensure they can support the community for years to come.

Outside of work, Rick can be found spending time with his family, or exploring the wonders of the PNW through biking and camping.

How do I become an architect? What is the difference between Architecture and Engineering? Can I job shadow an architect for a day? How do architects turn designs into buildings? Can I tour your office with my child? What roles can I perform in architecture? How do I know if architecture is the field for me? Would an architect speak to my class about architecture? What degrees do I need to be an architect?

Holst invites curious minds to ask questions about architecture.
