Rosemary joined Holst in 2020, excited to design accessible, affordable projects. Inspired by architecture’s ability to foster community and express beauty through craft, she brings a strong design ethic focused on the human experience. With a background in residential design and construction, she has mainly worked on affordable housing projects at Holst, including Home Forward’s Hazel Ying Lee Apartments and Related Northwest’s Glisan Landing. Rosemary is passionate about environmental stewardship and is a strong advocate for the role architecture can play in reducing our impact on the planet.

A graduate of Portland State University’s Master of Architecture program, she now teaches an Advanced Architectural Materials master’s-level course at the University. In addition to design, Rosemary enjoys building, having worked on several design-build projects in the Portland area, including Holst installations at Pickathon.

Outside of work, Rosemary likes to get outside for hiking, bouldering, and cycling.

How do I become an architect? What is the difference between Architecture and Engineering? Can I job shadow an architect for a day? How do architects turn designs into buildings? Can I tour your office with my child? What roles can I perform in architecture? How do I know if architecture is the field for me? Would an architect speak to my class about architecture? What degrees do I need to be an architect?

Holst invites curious minds to ask questions about architecture.
