Land Recognition

We have a responsibility to not only acknowledge but also elevate Native communities and their needs. This project sits in the area currently known as Portland, which encompasses the traditional village sites of the Multnomah, Wasco, Cowlitz, Kathlamet, Clackamas, Bands of Chinook, Tualatin Kalapuya, Molalla, and many other tribes who made their homes along the Columbia River.

Educating ourselves is an important action. We encourage you to explore the stories of these communities through Native-led resources like David G. Lewis, PhD’s The Quartux Journal and Leading with Tradition.

Vibrant Living in Southeast Portland

The Clinton Condominiums are on Southeast Division Street, but their name is inspired by the vibrant Clinton and 26th intersection located south of the building. Surrounded by restaurants, bars, and boutiques, the 50,000 sq. ft. mixed-use project houses 27 units and ground-floor retail.

Dynamic Design

Each façade is given a unique identity inspired by the crystalline quality of geodes. The exterior skin on the north and south elevations is corten steel, while the west elevation is more open, with floor-to-ceiling windows and translucent glass panels. The sky-colored angled glass panels provide privacy between decks and become luminous after dark.

Warm Interior

The units are thoughtfully detailed, featuring radiant black walnut floors and custom-designed cabinets.

Activated Façade

On the ground floor, 3,800 sq. ft. of retail space activates the street. Mahogany wood trim frames the unique floor-to-ceiling windows of the ground-floor spaces. Above, the 27 loft units range from 850 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq. ft.

How do I become an architect? What is the difference between Architecture and Engineering? Can I job shadow an architect for a day? How do architects turn designs into buildings? Can I tour your office with my child? What roles can I perform in architecture? How do I know if architecture is the field for me? Would an architect speak to my class about architecture? What degrees do I need to be an architect?

Holst invites curious minds to ask questions about architecture.
